Your information

Privacy at Somi.

A plain-language starting point for explaining how customer information is handled.

Effective date: Set this date when the store launches.

This starter privacy notice explains the main data flows in the supplied Somi website. It must be reviewed and completed with your legal entity name, registered address, grievance/contact details, payment provider, analytics tools, marketing tools and final retention periods before publication.

Information collected

Somi may collect information customers voluntarily provide when creating an account, updating a profile, placing an order or contacting support. This can include name, email address, mobile number, optional saved delivery address, marketing preference, order contents and message text. Account creation and email-confirmation status may also be recorded.

How information is used

Information may be used to create and maintain the customer account, pre-fill checkout, link signed-in orders to the account, process and fulfil orders, communicate service updates, provide support, prevent misuse, maintain security, comply with legal obligations and improve the shopping experience. Optional marketing messages should be sent only where the customer has opted in.

Payments

Cash on delivery may be offered. When the optional UPI feature is enabled, Razorpay Checkout processes the payment and may receive the customer contact details needed to complete, authenticate, prevent fraud and support the transaction. Somi stores gateway order/payment references and payment status for fulfilment and reconciliation, but the Somi website does not receive or store a customer's UPI PIN. Complete this notice with the final merchant entity and a link to the payment provider's privacy information before launch.

Account security and owner access

Passwords are processed by the configured authentication provider and are not shown to the Somi store owner or stored in the public customer-profile table. The authorised owner dashboard can view customer-submitted profile and order details for legitimate account support, fulfilment and store operations. Customers can view and update only their own profile and account-linked orders.

Service providers

Information may be handled by providers that support hosting, authentication, database storage, image storage, email, payments, delivery, fraud prevention, analytics or customer support. List the providers actually used at launch.

Cookies and local storage

The storefront uses browser storage to remember the shopping bag and wishlist on the customer’s device. Authentication services may use secure browser storage or cookies when enabled. Add a consent mechanism before introducing non-essential analytics or advertising technologies where required.

Retention and security

Retain personal information only as long as needed for the stated purposes, accounting, support, disputes and legal obligations. Use access controls, least privilege, encryption in transit, backups, monitoring and timely software updates to reduce risk.

Customer choices

Customers can update saved profile information and marketing preference from My account. They may also contact Somi to request access, correction or deletion, or to exercise other rights available under applicable law. Some order and accounting records may need to be retained for legal or operational reasons.
